Press Release Summary = Teresa L. Gilles, Executive Director of Main Street Amherst, has been chosen to represent Ohio's 38 Main Street programs on the Heritage Ohio Main Street Manager Advisory Committee.
Press Release Body = The Heritage Ohio Main Street manager advisory committee, as elected by their peers will serve in an advisory capacity to the revitalization committee, board of trustees and staff of Heritage Ohio. Their duties shall include reviewing and recommending programs and policies of the Heritage Ohio Main Street Program, including trainings, speakers, and program requirements. Recommendations will be made to the Heritage Ohio revitalization committee for consideration. The advisory committee may act as liaisons between Heritage Ohio staff and the Ohio Main Street managers. The Ohio Main Street Program is coordinated by Heritage Ohio, as designated by the National Trust Main Street Center. Heritage Ohio works as a catalyst for downtown development by gathering together downtown organizations, conducting statewide seminars and conferences and providing a network to share knowledge, common experiences and challenges concerning downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts. Heritage Ohio has received support from the Ohio Department of Development's Office of Housing and Community Partnerships, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Ohio Historic Preservation Office, Sky Financial, Chase, and National City Bank.
